For several years I scheduled newborn sessions in my home studio. I loved it and got very good at lighting and posing techniques. But as my kids got older and life got more complicated, it got harder for me to find the time and space to schedule these very long sessions. So, I stopped. It has been a few years since I’ve done a newborn session, so I was surprised when I got an email out of the blue from Amanda that not only did she want to schedule a newborn session, but at her home, and in the next 3 days! There is a little bit more to the story. You see, Amanda and her husband and two young sons were in town from Texas awaiting the adoption of their newest family member, a darling little girl. They were only in town for a few more days and staying at a very cool VRBO and wanted to have newborn pictures before they left Gainesville. I was a little bit nervous, well, because it had been a while, and I didn’t want to disappoint Amanda but I loved her story and the opportunity to photograph a newborn session again. Amanda and Matt are such a beautiful couple with so much love for their family. I have to say that it was such a pleasure photographing this family that I now want to schedule newborn sessions again - but at your home! I loved that everyone was relaxed because it was “at home” - no fussing around with getting baby in the car and going out. Honestly, who wants to do that just after having a baby! I totally understand going to a newborn studio and getting those gorgeous posed shots - but for me - I would much rather photograph newborn sessions at home and focus more on “A Baby’s Story”. Thank you Amanda and Matt for letting me capture this very special time in your life and I hope to see you all again when you are in the area! It’s now official: I am scheduling at home newborn sessions to include your whole family.
